He Gently Leads the One With Young

“He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young.”

— Isaiah 40:11

Hey you. Yeah, you, with the lukewarm coffee and the pile of laundry that’s starting to look like a small mountain range. It’s Thursday, and the weekend feels like a distant mirage. Maybe you woke up to a toddler’s knee in your ribs or a teenager’s heavy sigh before breakfast. It’s easy to feel like you’re just a glorified snack-getter and chauffeur, losing your own identity in the blur of 'to-do' lists. But look at Isaiah 40:11. God doesn't just 'handle' us; He gently leads those with young. He knows you’re carrying a lot—literally and emotionally. He’s not shouting instructions from a distance or tapping His watch because you’re running behind again. He’s right there in the sticky kitchen, offering a pace that accounts for your exhaustion. You don't have to sprint to keep up with His grace. Whether you’re navigating a tantrum in the cereal aisle or the quiet chaos of a messy house, He’s carrying you while you carry them. Take a deep breath. You aren't failing; you're being led. And His lead is always, always gentle.

Today’s Prayer

Lord, thank You for meeting me right here in the mess and the noise. Help me feel Your gentle hand leading me today, especially when I feel like I'm running on empty. I’m leaning on Your strength, not mine. Amen.
