When Resurrection Meets the Morning Scramble

“He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.”

— Matthew 28:6

You probably woke up today to the sound of a small human jumping on your bed rather than the quiet, contemplative sunrise you’d pictured. Maybe you’re currently negotiating with a threenager who refuses to wear socks, or perhaps you're staring at a mountain of laundry wondering how a day of 'victory' can feel so much like a struggle. Here’s the beautiful truth, Mama: Easter isn’t just for the people who have their lives (and their kids’ hair) perfectly smoothed down. The very first witnesses to the resurrection were women—likely tired, grieving, and overwhelmed women—who showed up in the dark. Today, Jesus meets you right in the middle of the breakfast crumbs and the missing shoes. His resurrection means that the 'dead' parts of your heart—the patience that ran out on Tuesday or the joy that felt buried under a heavy week—are being invited back to life. You don’t have to perform for Him. The stone is already rolled away, not so He could get out, but so you could see that the struggle doesn’t have the final word. He is risen, and He is right there in your kitchen.

Today’s Prayer

Lord, thank You that the same power that raised Jesus from the grave is at work in my messy living room today. Help me see Your life in the chaos and Your grace in my mistakes. I’m so glad the tomb is empty and that You are here with me. Amen.
