He Carries You While You Carry Them
“He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young.”
— Isaiah 40:11
It’s Monday morning, and the to-do list is already screaming louder than the toddler who just realized their favorite blue cup is in the dishwasher. You’re standing there, lukewarm coffee in hand, wondering how you’re supposed to find enough patience or energy to get through the next twelve hours. Here’s the secret, mama: God isn’t looking down at you from a distance, grading your performance. He’s right there in the thick of the cereal spills and the mounting laundry. He knows that those who have young—that’s you!—need a different kind of pace. He isn't rushing you to some finish line of perfection. He’s the Shepherd who gathers your little lambs in His arms, but He’s also the one gently leading you. When you feel like you’re running on empty, remember that you don't have to carry the weight of the world, or even the weight of your household, alone. He is carrying you. Even on the days when the only thing you’ve accomplished is keeping everyone alive, you are seen, you are loved, and you are held.
Lord, thank You for meeting me in this messy kitchen before the day truly begins. Please carry me today as I carry my family, and help me feel Your gentle lead in every chaotic moment. Amen.
