Finding Your Breath in the Beautiful Chaos
“He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young.”
— Isaiah 40:11
It’s Friday, and if you’re like most of us, your 'to-do' list is currently mocking you from the fridge. Between the sticky fingerprints on the sliding glass door and the mental load of remembering whose library books are due, you’re likely running on caffeine and a prayer. Sometimes it feels like you are the one doing all the leading, all the carrying, and all the holding together. But look at that promise in Isaiah. God isn’t standing over you with a clipboard, checking off your failures. He is the Shepherd who 'gently leads those that have young.' That’s you, mama. He knows you’re tired. He knows about the 3:00 AM wake-up call and the way your heart aches when your teen shuts their bedroom door. He isn't asking you to sprint; He’s inviting you to lean. Today, let the guilt of not being 'enough' slide off your shoulders. You don't have to carry the whole flock; you just have to let Him carry you. Take a deep breath. You are loved, you are seen, and you are being led with the utmost tenderness.
Lord, thank You for being so gentle with me when I’m hard on myself. Help me feel Your arms carrying me through the laundry piles and the loud moments today. Amen.
