The Sacred Beauty of Your Ordinary Mess
“He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young.”
— Isaiah 40:11
Hey mama. It’s Wednesday—the middle of the week where the initial Monday motivation has fizzled out and the weekend still feels like a distant mirage. Maybe you woke up to a tiny elbow in your ribs or the sound of a glass shattering in the kitchen. Between the endless snack requests and the mental load of remembering everyone’s spirit day at school, it’s easy to feel like you’re just a glorified cruise director for a ship that’s constantly taking on water. But take a breath and look at Isaiah 40:11. God isn’t just watching you from a distance; He is 'gently leading' those who have young. That’s you. He knows you’re walking a bit slower because you’re carrying a heavy load—both literally and emotionally. He isn't rushing you to be 'more' or 'perfect.' He’s right there in the carpool line and the midnight rocking chair, holding you while you hold them. You don’t have to have it all figured out today, friend. You just have to let Him lead you one step at a time through the beautiful, exhausting mess.
Lord, thank You for meeting me right here in the middle of the laundry piles and the noise. Help me feel Your gentle hand leading me today, and remind my heart that I am seen, loved, and enough. Amen.
