Finding Your Pace in the Beautiful Chaos
“He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he leads gently those that have young.”
— Isaiah 40:11
You know that feeling when you're trying to fold a mountain of laundry while simultaneously preventing a toddler from eating a stray crayon? Your brain feels like it has forty-seven tabs open, and most of them are frozen. It’s easy to feel like you’re failing because you aren't 'crushing it' like the influencers suggest. But look at how God sees you today. He isn't standing over you with a clipboard, checking off your productivity. He’s the Shepherd who 'leads gently those that have young.' He knows your pace is dictated by little legs and big emotions. He knows the weight of the mental load you carry—the school forms, the doctor appointments, and the silent prayers for your teenager’s heart. If you feel like you’re barely crawling toward the weekend, take a breath. You don't have to run today; you just have to walk with Him. He isn’t rushing you; He’s holding you. So, leave the dishes for ten minutes. You are doing the good, holy, exhausting work of love, and He is right there in the mess with you.
Jesus, thank You for meeting me in this messy kitchen and my messy heart. Help me feel Your gentle hand leading me today, especially when I'm running on empty. I’m leaning on Your strength because mine is gone. Amen.
