When You’re Running on Dry Shampoo and Grace

“He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young.”

— Isaiah 40:11

It’s Friday, and if you’re anything like me, your 'to-do' list has officially become a 'maybe next month' list. You’ve survived the week on lukewarm coffee, a few questionable nuggets scavenged from a toddler’s plate, and a whole lot of Jesus. Sometimes, in the middle of the laundry piles and the sports practice shuttle service, it’s easy to feel like you’re just a logistics manager rather than a daughter of the King. But look at Isaiah. God doesn’t just see the 'flock'—He specifically notices the one leading the young. He sees you. He isn’t tapping His watch wondering why the house is a mess or why you lost your cool during the morning shoe-finding crisis. He’s gently leading you. He knows your knees are tired and your heart is heavy with the weight of raising humans. Whether you’re navigating the 'terrible twos' or the 'terrifying teens,' He isn't rushing you to the finish line. He’s right there in the hallway, offering a hand to hold and a heart to lean on. Take a breath, Mama. You aren’t just getting through the day; you are being carried through it.

Today’s Prayer

Lord, thank You for meeting me right here in my messy kitchen. Please carry me when I’m tired and remind me that I don’t have to do it all alone today. Amen.
