He Gently Leads the Mom Who's Tired

“He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young.”

— Isaiah 40:11

It’s Saturday, and if you’re like me, your 'day of rest' currently involves three loads of laundry, a lukewarm cup of coffee, and a toddler who treats your living room like an obstacle course. You’re the CEO of snacks and the Chief Comforter of bruised knees, and honestly? You’re exhausted. It’s easy to feel like you’re failing when you can’t keep all the plates spinning. But look at Isaiah 40:11. God doesn’t just lead the strong or the fast; He specifically and tenderly 'gently leads those that have young.' That’s a promise just for you, Mama. He knows your pace is slower because you’re carrying little souls. He knows your heart is heavy with a million mental tabs open. He isn’t behind you with a stopwatch, shouting for you to hurry up. He’s right there, matching your step, holding you close while you hold everyone else. Today, give yourself permission to drop the 'perfect mom' act. Whether you’re navigating a teen’s mood swings or a baby’s blow-out, you aren’t walking alone. You are being carried by the Shepherd who never gets tired of your mess.

Today’s Prayer

Lord, thank you for walking at my pace today. Help me feel your arms holding me while I hold my family. Amen.
