You Are Held Even on Hard Mondays

“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”

— Lamentations 3:22-23

Monday again. The laundry you swore you'd fold yesterday is still on the couch, somebody already spilled something, and it's not even 8 a.m. You might be running on four hours of sleep and cold coffee, wondering how you're supposed to show up fully for everyone when you feel like a phone at three percent battery. Here's the thing — Lamentations was written in the middle of genuine devastation, not a Pinterest-perfect morning. And yet, right there in the wreckage, the writer finds this stubborn, beautiful truth: the mercies reset. Every single morning. Not just on the mornings you have it together. Not just when you were patient yesterday or remembered the permission slip. This morning, before the chaos fully descends, you get a fresh start. God's love for you is not keeping score of last week's failures. His faithfulness shows up even when yours feels thin. You don't have to earn today. You just have to receive it.

Today’s Prayer

God, I need your new mercy today — the kind that covers my short temper and my tired heart before I even get started. Thank you that your faithfulness doesn't depend on mine. Help me receive this day as a gift, not a test I might fail.
