You Are Held Even on Hard Days
“He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young.”
— Isaiah 40:11
Did you catch that last part? He gently leads those that have young. Not pushes. Not rushes. Gently leads. That phrase was written for you — the mom who hasn't slept a full night in what feels like a geological era, who refereed three arguments before 8 a.m., who said 'because I said so' and immediately heard your own mother's voice come out of your mouth. God isn't standing at the finish line of your day with a clipboard, grading your performance. He's walking right beside you, setting the pace, knowing exactly what you're carrying. The lambs in His arms? That's your kids. And you — you're not forgotten in that image either. You're the one He's actively, tenderly leading. Not dragging. Not leaving behind. On the days when you feel like you're just surviving, when the laundry is a monument and dinner is cereal again — He is still gently, faithfully leading you through it.
Lord, on days when I feel more lost than leading, remind me that You are the one doing the shepherding here — not me. Thank You for holding my children and for walking gently beside me. I trust You with all of it today.
