You Are Seen, Even on Hard Days

“She gave this name to the LORD who spoke to her: 'You are the God who sees me,' for she said, 'I have now seen the One who sees me.'”

— Genesis 16:13

Hagar said those words alone in a desert, running away from a hard situation, completely convinced she was invisible to everyone who mattered. Sound familiar? Maybe your desert looks like a minivan full of arguing kids, a sink full of dishes that somehow multiplied overnight, or a teenager who looked right through you at breakfast like you were a piece of furniture. The invisible feeling is real, mama. But here's what stopped me cold about Hagar's story — God didn't just see her circumstances. He saw HER. He called her by name. He asked her real questions. He showed up in the middle of her mess, not after she cleaned it up. That's the God you have today. Not a distant scorekeeper watching you fall short, but a God who tracks you down in the desert, sits with you in the hard, and says, 'I see you.' You are not invisible. Not to Him. Not for one single minute.

Today’s Prayer

God, on the days I feel completely unseen and used up, remind me that You are the God who sees me — not my failures, not my to-do list, but me. Thank You for finding me right here in the middle of all of it. Amen.
