You Are Held Even on Hard Mondays
“He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.”
— Isaiah 40:29
Monday showed up again — as it always does — without asking if you were ready. Maybe you spent the weekend refereeing sibling arguments, doing four loads of laundry that somehow multiplied into six, or lying awake at 2 a.m. replaying a moment you wish you'd handled differently with your kid. You woke up this morning already behind, already tired, already wondering if you're doing any of this right. Here's what I want you to sit with over your coffee: God is not surprised by your empty tank. He didn't look down at your Monday morning and say, 'Wow, she really should have it together by now.' Isaiah wasn't writing this verse for the well-rested and confident. He was writing it for the weary — which is just a fancy word for you, right now, today. Strength isn't something you manufacture through better planning or more discipline. It's something He gives. You don't have to earn a refill. You just have to show up, and He meets you exactly there — in the mess, in the mundane, in the beautiful, exhausting ordinary of your life.
God, I'm running on fumes and You already know it — so I'm not pretending otherwise today. Fill me up with something that isn't caffeine, and help me be patient and present with the little people You've trusted me with. Thank You for meeting me right here, on this very ordinary Monday.
