You Are Held Even When You're Empty

“He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.”

— Isaiah 40:29

You woke up tired before the day even started. Maybe last night was the third night in a row of broken sleep, or maybe you just lay there in the dark carrying everything you can't seem to put down — the worry about that one kid, the conversation that went sideways, the feeling that everyone needs a piece of you and you've got nothing left to hand out. Here's what I want you to know: God is not waiting for you to rally. He's not standing at the edge of your exhaustion with a clipboard, checking whether you showed up strong today. He is the one who meets you precisely at empty. That word 'weary' in Isaiah isn't poetic — it means bone-tired, run-out, done. God saw that coming. He wrote a promise for it. You don't have to manufacture strength this morning. You just have to receive it. Hold out your hands, even if they're shaking, and let Him fill them. That's enough. You are enough. And you are held.

Today’s Prayer

God, I am running on fumes today and You already know it — so I'm not even going to pretend otherwise. Fill me where I'm empty, and help me trust that Your strength showing up in my weakness is not a consolation prize, it's the whole point. Thank You for not requiring me to be anything other than honest with You right now.
