You Are Held Even on Hard Days
“He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young.”
— Isaiah 40:11
Did you catch that last part? 'He gently leads those that have young.' Not those who have it all together. Not those who remembered to sign the permission slip on time or managed to serve a vegetable at dinner. Those that have young. That's you. The same God who hung the stars also looked at mothers — specifically, exhausted, doing-their-best mothers — and said, 'I'll be gentle with her.' Not demanding. Not disappointed. Gentle. Maybe this morning someone woke you up at 5 a.m. for no discernible reason. Maybe last night ended with a slammed door or a tear-soaked pillow — yours or theirs. Maybe you're already running a mental tab of everything you haven't done yet today. Friend, you are not falling behind on some cosmic checklist. You are being carried. The same arms strong enough to gather lambs are the ones holding you right now, on this ordinary Saturday, in the middle of your beautiful, exhausting, sacred life.
God, on the days I feel like I'm barely keeping up, remind me that You are gently leading me — not pushing me. Thank You for seeing me not as a failure, but as someone worth carrying close.
