You Are Held Even on Hard Mondays
“He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young.”
— Isaiah 40:11
Did you catch that last part? 'He gently leads those that have young.' Not pushes. Not rushes. Gently leads. God looked down at all the categories of people He could describe and specifically called out moms — women with little ones depending on them — and said, I see you, and I will be tender with you. That's not an accident. That's a promise. Because Monday has a way of arriving like a wrecking ball, doesn't it? The weekend's mess is still on the counter, somebody already lost a shoe, and you haven't even had your coffee yet. You might be running on three hours of sleep or three years of emotional depletion — maybe both. But here's what Isaiah wants you to know before this week picks up speed: you are not just being tolerated by God, you are being carried. The same arms holding your children are holding you. He is not annoyed by your exhaustion. He is not disappointed by your limits. He is walking at your pace today, right beside you, gently.
Lord, I am already tired and it's only Monday — You know that, and somehow You still call me Yours. Carry me today the way only You can, and help me feel Your gentleness in the small moments. Amen.
