You Don't Have to Hold It Together
“He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.”
— Isaiah 40:29
Can we just be honest for a second? Some mornings you are running on three hours of sleep, cold coffee, and sheer determination not to cry before 9 a.m. Maybe someone had a nightmare at 2, someone else couldn't find their left shoe at 7:15, and you haven't had a quiet thought in what feels like weeks. And somewhere in the middle of all of it, you're wondering if you're doing any of this right. Here's what I want you to hear today: God didn't promise strength to the people who had it all figured out. He promised it to the weary. That's the qualifier. That's the requirement. You qualify. You don't have to manufacture some extra reserve of patience or joy today. You just have to be honest about how tired you are — and let Him meet you right there in the chaos, in the kitchen, in the minivan, in the mess. He's not waiting for you to get it together. He's already here.
God, I'm tired in ways I can't always explain, and You already know that. Fill in every gap I'm leaving today with Your strength, because mine is just about gone. Thank You for not requiring me to be more than I am right now.
