You Are Held on Hard Days

“He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young.”

— Isaiah 40:11

Did you catch that last part? 'He gently leads those that have young.' Not forcefully. Not impatiently. Gently. God looked at mothers — women with little ones underfoot, babies on hips, hearts stretched thin — and said, I will pace myself to match her. That is not a small thing. You live in a season where the days are long and the coffee gets cold before you finish it. Where you give and give and then someone asks you for one more thing and you have nothing left, and yet somehow you find it. That is not you running on empty. That is grace filling the gap. God is not driving you like a cattle prod. He is walking beside you, reading your exhaustion, adjusting His pace to yours. You are not falling behind. You are not failing. You are being led — gently, personally, by a God who sees exactly how heavy your arms are today and calls it worthy of His tenderness.

Today’s Prayer

God, thank You for seeing me — not just the mom I'm trying to be, but the tired, real, trying-her-best one I actually am. Lead me gently today, and remind me that Your pace is made for mine. Amen.
