You Are Held, Even on Hard Days
“He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young.”
— Isaiah 40:11
Did you catch that last part? 'He gently leads those that have young.' Not harshly. Not impatiently. Gently. God looked ahead at every mom who would ever exist — including you, right now, possibly still in yesterday's ponytail — and He said, 'I'll be tender with her.' Because He knows what you're carrying. He knows about the permission slip you forgot, the argument that went sideways last night, the toddler who has somehow been awake since 5 a.m. on a Saturday. He knows you love your kids fiercely and still feel completely underwater some days. And here's the thing — He doesn't lead you by barking orders from the front. He walks beside you, matching your pace, which some weeks is more of a survival shuffle than anything else. You are not failing. You are a lamb being carried close to the heart of a God who chose gentleness specifically for moms like you.
God, I need Your gentleness today — with my kids and with myself. Carry what I can't hold and lead me through this day with Your quiet, steady presence. Thank You for seeing me.
