Gently Led Through the Beautiful Chaos
“He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young.”
— Isaiah 40:11
Hey you. It’s Tuesday, and if your house is anything like mine, there’s likely a half-eaten crust of toast on the counter and a pile of laundry that has officially claimed the guest chair as its own. Some days, motherhood feels less like a 'gentle walk' and more like a frantic hurdles race where the hurdles are made of LEGOs and toddler attitude. But look at Isaiah’s promise: God gently leads those who have young. He isn’t behind you with a stopwatch, shouting for you to hustle harder or hit your goals. He knows your heart is heavy with the mental load of school schedules and shoe sizes. He sees the way you whispered a prayer for patience while hiding in the pantry for thirty seconds of peace. Today, give yourself permission to match His pace. You don't have to be a superhero who does it all; you just get to be the mom He is tending to right now. Let Him carry the heavy stuff while you simply hold your little ones. You’re doing a holy work, even in the messy middle.
Lord, thank You for meeting me right here in my messy kitchen. Help me feel Your gentle lead today and remind me that Your grace is much bigger than my to-do list.
