He Gently Leads the Mom Who's Tired

“He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young.”

— Isaiah 40:11

It’s Wednesday, and if you’re anything like me, your 'to-do' list has already been hijacked by a spilled cereal bowl or a sudden school project you didn't know existed until five minutes ago. By mid-week, the adrenaline of Monday has faded, leaving behind sticky floors and a mental load that feels five pounds too heavy. You’re doing the holy work of raising humans, but let’s be honest—sometimes it feels less like a 'sacred calling' and more like a marathon you didn't actually train for. Here is the best news for your weary heart today: God isn’t standing over you with a stopwatch, shouting for you to pick up the pace. Isaiah tells us He gently leads those with young. He knows the weight of the toddler on your hip and the heavy concerns for the teen in your heart. He isn't frustrated that you're tired; He's right there in the mess with you, offering a hand instead of a lecture. You don’t have to run faster to catch up to His grace. He has slowed His pace to match yours. Take a breath, Mama. You aren’t failing; you’re being led by a Shepherd who loves you even more than you love those kids.

Today’s Prayer

Jesus, thank You for meeting me right here in the middle of this messy kitchen. Please help me feel Your gentle hand leading me through the chaos today, and remind me that Your grace is enough when my patience runs thin. I’m leaning on You. Amen.
